What Skiers Say About Villars - Gryon

Villars-Gryon is consistently described as a family-friendly resort that appeals primarily to beginner and intermediate skiers. Reviewers repeatedly mention the high-quality ski schools, well-maintained pistes, and calm atmosphere. The resort connects to Les Diablerets and offers access to Glacier 3000 for more variety. Most users note it's a smaller ski area, which limits options for advanced skiers seeking challenging terrain, though some off-piste exists for those who know where to look. Swiss pricing is frequently cited as expensive, and snow conditions can be inconsistent, particularly early season and on south-facing slopes.

Fantastic ski resort for beginners / intermediates and most of all family trips.

Great location, good ski schools, friendly atmosphere and a very school orientated area and resort.

There is little to no off piste skiing due to the topography of the land and size of the runs down the mountains.

Some gorgeous scenery and brilliant bites on the mountain, well worth a visit - but more adventurous skiers would have a better time in a larger resort with more varied ski options and areas.

Nice Swiss ski resort. Lovely train ride up to the main lifts, or gondola, from village centre. Good lifts and link to other resort, never really busy. Some off piste if you know where to go & can ski back to some hotels.
Village centre is small with some nice bars and shops.

Been skiing to Villars since I was very young when there was a lot more snow, however now there is less and sometimes the amount of runs can be limited so skiing back down to town is not possible a lot of the time.
Lifts can become congested down at the Lac Noir chairlift but this has recently been resolved by a new 8man chair. Tree skiing is nice and the off piste is pretty sick. In terms of restaurants there are a few to choose from (my favourite is cookie) however the prices are very expensive, but it is right next to the train down the mountain :)

Went in March but there was still plenty of snow for decent skiing. Mountain itself was a bit smaller than expected (compared to some other Swiss mountains) but more than enough to keep you busy for a few days to a week.

A lovely ski resort with beautiful views and Villars is a sweet village to stay in with great restaurants and hotels. The snow is great however it can be hit and miss. It can get very busy during peak holiday times but this is the same as most resorts. It is a perfect ski resort for families and beginner to intermediate skiers. I would highly recommend.
