Beautiful wide pistes with variety. Some lower runs got a little slushy as the day went on but staying high was amazing! Really great apres ski and not too expensive drinks for Switzerland! Lots of fun!

Tried snowboarding there and had a great time. Stayed in a chalet nearby. Lifts were great. Ski school helped progress quickly. Was very hot in afternoons though

Great resort with plenty of options for continuous and varied skiing. Get up to the top of the glacier at Plain Morte for some unreal views and well maintained pistes back down the mountain. Apres at Cry Der and Zero Dix is often good, and there are plenty of places to eat on the slopes. Weve been visiting as a group for years and found it to be a good balance of perhaps less busy slopes and just enough Apres to keep us coming back.

Great family resort, beginner to advanced slopes. Not many places for apres ski. Very civilised. A bit hard to get around in the buses. Also quite expensive

We headed to crans montana just before Christmas and had some incredible conditions. Although there are ample groomed pistes, one of the big draws of crans montana is the access to off piste and tree runs - some great powder fields just off the main pistes.
But there is plenty to do on the groomed runs too. I'd say one thing is that the signposting on the pistes is a bit hit and miss - sometimes there isn't signage or it's not clear, which can be annoying.
When we were there they hadn't finished the snow park but it's supposed to be a good one when it's up and running.
Also the dynamic lift pricing means you can get an absolute steal on the lift pass. We paid something like chf38 a day in mid December 2023.
The town itself is also good fun with a few bars and lots of places to eat and drink. At Christmas the lantern walk is also a really nice thing to do with family.
We loved Crans and would love to come back soon.

An epic Swiss alps resort with some great advanced skiing and off piste stuff with a great glacier.. the town has excellent food and accommodation although the night life scene can be a bit dry! A place for serious skiers I would say..

If you're looking for a ski resort that has a lot of facilities including a huge choice of hotels from 3* to 5* (and some amazing 5* hotels), over 90 restaurants with tons of international stuff, crazy shopping with up scale brands, nice bars - not a crazy apres scene but pretty decent, especially Zero Dix after skiing on a busy Friday or Saturday, great atmosphere in town and lively with a surprising mix of age groups, then Crans-Montana is right up there. Really good piste skiing, mostly south facing which is fine because the altitude is high and early season is great. Not so much off-piste or freeride, but a very very good terrain park, one of the largest in Switzerland. Long runs, especially down from the glacier and some nice rustic mountain restaurants too. very smart, good for short trips too by train from Geneva Airport.
Pros - choice of hotels and very high standard, great food, incredible views from the town and the mountain, local wine, buzzy town, great intermediate ski terrain with a bit of harder stuff too (actually very good for beginners too), huge ski touring park
Cons - lower runs late season can get slushy, can be expensive (although not as much as some of the other Swiss Valais resorts), not much freeride terrain or powder left one or two days after a snowfall

Amazing resort with beautiful views and spectacular runs. The ski schools on the mountain are top notch and the terrain park is varied and built exceptionally. Many options for renting/buying equipment and eating out.
Some of the best restaurants and bars are zero Dix for après ski and the cry d'er for a bit of lunch on the slopes

I love crans montana in Switzerland. They have very nice snow area to ski or snowboard, great restaurants to eat and nice stores to shop, nice downtown to visit and walk around. This is a very safe place to go on holidays with kids. During the Christmas holidays, some days the ski slopes may be very busy with lots of people and less enjoyable to go skiing... Otherwise when there are less people , this is great and I love skiing there !

Crans is another Swiss mega resort offering superb skiing, glacier access and golf. The terrain park has been the training ground for X games and olympic freestyle elite whilst the many blue and red runs host the mega rich. Backcountry access is good and high altitude gets you access to snow earlier in the season - and late on the glacier. Snow island (the Ballesteros golf course) offers fun runs and activities for kids to get them playing in the snow. The resort faces south and gets a lot of sun (and slushes out easily). Beautiful spot, high prices and holiday crowds.
