We skiid at Baquiera over New Year this year as it was one of the few places that had good snow and we could afford to take 5 people. We stayed in a lovely 3 bedroom apartment in the centre of Vielha and celebrated New Year in the square with music and dancing.
Although we had to drive up to Baquiera early to miss the terrible traffic, it was worth it as the slopes were quiet and the snow crisp and in great condition. New Years Day was a quiet drive up…the normal 20 mins.
There is plenty of varied skiing, and lots of off-piste , with a great lift system. We used BB Ski School for ski hire which is right by the lift up, and stored our skis there. Tim and his wife and team are super friendly and helpful .
Oh, and parking was free!
The bus runs regularly and is only just over a euro . There are other smaller villages along the valley, I will be trying these out in the future!

Amazing gorgeous runs, lift queues are minimal.
It's massively convenient; most people stay in the town 20mins down the road, Vielha which is lovely. They have ski lockers at the foot of the gondola so there's no need to schlep your stuff every day. I absolutely love this place

The resort was run efficiently. The lifts run smoothly and fast.,The pistes were bashed. You need transport to get to the ski areas there are some local buses .
There are plenty of areas off piste for boarders and skiing alike. A snow park.
71:50Euros for a day pass. Reductions for over 65! The food and drink was very expensive. Probably on a par with France.

Baqueira is the best you can take in the Pyrenees. One of the biggest ski areas, good snow coverage and very well maintained ski slopes. The lifts system is modern and when there is fresh snow, it has plenty of opportunities for off piste skiing. On the down side, it can be crowded during week ends and holidays and the apres-ski experience is not fantastic.

We loved our time here! It wasn’t busy and the mountain was well maintained. The lifts were quick and runs were well groomed. Ski/snowboard rental was efficient and the gear was good. I’d recommend this mountain to others! We visited from Barcelona and I’d recommend a 4 wheel drive because our car got stuck in the snow.

Really nice different experience skiing in Spain compared to other parts of Europe. Enough interesting skiing for a 6 day stay with varied types of runs and conditions. We stayed at Eurostars Hotel, smart and well run and staff really welcoming and helpful, good restaurant and apres facilities.

A really well kept secret with wide open pistes and awesome off piste which is lift accessible.

If you are blessed with fresh snow I cant think of a better resort for easily accessible off piste and easy returns to the slopes

The lift map doesnt do the resort justice and struggles to show the variety and extent of the runs available.

Stunning Pyrenees views and a friendly atmosphere.

Definitely a good ski resort, it is evident that a lot of people that go here are regulars and it really feels like a community. Weekends can get quite busy but all in all there is a good mix of people so I definitely recommend.

A great, family resort. Good for beginners. Great restaurants & prices. Ideally need a car. Resort is only 2 hours from Toulouse or 4 hours from Barcelona. Reasonable priced accommodation in Salardu & Arties. Much cheaper than France!!!

Incredible resort to take beginners and children, even when snow is rubbish they work so hard to keep the pistes as good as they can do! Brilliant restaurants for tapas and red wine. Love it here.

Excellent resort for blue red skiers. Limited for expert terrain when snow cover is hard pack/icy. Food excellent everywhere. Lifts generally fast & reliable.
