Cortina d'Ampezzo Review Summary

Cortina d'Ampezzo attracts skiers across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. The most consistent themes are the scenic Dolomite landscape, well-groomed pistes, and quiet lifts with minimal queuing. Reviewers repeatedly note the resort's high prices for both town amenities and ski school, describing it as upscale or aimed at a wealthier clientele. Snow conditions vary, with several users mentioning icy afternoon slopes and reliance on snowmaking. The après-ski scene is described as limited or subdued compared to other resorts, and the ski area is fragmented across different mountains requiring road or bus transfers.

Absolutely loved Cortina. Spectacular views and runs. Went toward the end of January and was very quiet. Runs to ourselves a lot of the time however this dampened the apres vibe a lot.Thoroughly recommend if youre looking for a chill ski experience.

Cortina has some of the best slopes in the world with incredible views to enhance your skiing experience. While it can get quite busy during the high season, the spread of lifts across multiple mountains, lets you always find less crowded slopes. Skiing in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites is an experience anyone should do at least once in their lifetime

Excellent ski facilities, lots of lifts, surprisingly not busy, with amazing breathtaking views. The town itself is pricy and actually not super many restaurant options but very lovely scenery.

While studying abroad I visited Cortina, my friends who had never skid before enjoyed the nice restaurants on piste, the apres was great and since i am used to vail resorts prices the beer seemed cheap.

Poor parking setup, pretty crowded roads in the morning and in the evening so plan to arrive there super early and leave late as the crowds were mad at 16:30/17:00.

Had a great time here. Not huge but there was plenty of variety. Snow could get a little icy in the afternoons.

The ski resort offers top quality slopes and one of the most scenery landscapes of the dolomites. There are many different ski areas with lot of km of slopes suited for every level. The city is very luxurious and offers every service needed, downside is the price, adequate for what you get, but still there are cheaper alternatives.
Off-piste and tree runs are limited by law and by snow conditions, suggested to check before preparing for the trip.

The skiing and touring between resorts is good. The hidden valley was absolutely stunning but disappointing that the lifts dont bring you back resulting in taxi rides back up the valley. We had some excellent food on the slopes and the price was reasonable. I felt that the town itself lacked the atmosphere of a ski resort - you couldnt walk into a bar in your ski boots and stagger out 4 hours later!

Worked a season in Cortina, it's a stunning resort but if you're after a lively ski town, this isn't the one for you... You can comfortably ski each side of the mountain in a day or two and the runs were unbelievably quiet. I think I only ever queued for more than 5 minutes to get a lift once or twice.

If you want a quiet getaway to a beautiful part of the world where you'll be unbothered by hordes of skiers during half terms, coupled with some great food and drink and very well kept pistes then I really recommend Cortina.

For a small resort there's a good range of runs, the beginner runs are actually quite long which is a novelty, and then they there's the black run that features in the downhill world cup for those after a bit more speed.

I had a ball in Cortina, but it's definitely not for everyone.

Great resort if a bit splintered with it being on either side of the valley. Apres is good and the lift system seemed very good.
