Nice compact, family friendly resort. Even in high season lift queues are pretty quiet. Apart from return runs to village there is plenty of quiet pistes.
With some fresh powder the resort really opens up with plenty of fun terrain to ski, nothing too extreme, but mostly good fun.
SFL is definitely less built up than its neighbour over in Valmorel, but I preferred it's laid back (less flashy) feel.
With the Belle Montagne ski lift there was plenty to keep us occupied.
Easy access with a 15 min drive up from La Chambre. Good Carrefour supermarket in La Chambre, but pretty decent Spar and Sherpa supermarkets up the hill.
If you want great skiing and avoid the package tourists, I'd recommend... If you want rowdy apres - this resort is not for you.

A great family friendly resort. There always activities in the evening kids and adults can enjoy, the lift pass comes with a free ride on the luge and can be used in both SFL and Volmorel making it a decent ski area. We enjoyed the tree lined greens down to doucy combelouvière, lunch and drinks at the bottom of the runs in SFL, and practically ski in ski out access from our accomodation. We stayed in Résidence Goélia Le Rond Point des Pistes, which was basic but had everything we needed. Next door was a pizza place, boulangerie, skiset and shop so everything was covered. It was a bit of a walk to go up to the main base to see what was going on in the evenings - had to walk up the piste to get round, but didn't take too long. Also enjoyed apres at La folie Bergère on the mountain. Great resort and would happily visit again.

As a family we have skied here many years. The resort is not known as a typical English ski resort and still maintains some traditional charm. It offers good value for money, much of the accommodation is ski/ski out, the slopes are well maintained and rarely over busy and the resort is linked with Valmorel which offers good alternative (tree lined) skiiing. We are planning to return again this year!
