What Skiers Say About Les Contamines Montjoie

Les Contamines draws mainly intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders, along with families seeking a quieter alternative to larger resorts. Reviewers consistently highlight uncrowded slopes, reliable snow cover at altitude, and excellent views of Mont Blanc. The terrain suits confident intermediates and offers accessible off-piste, though complete beginners may find connectivity limited. Nice resort. Not ski in/out but the telecabin moves quite fast. Seems to absorb the crowds if resort is fully open. Even at February half term didn't really have to wait too long at the lifts once into the resort itself. Older lifts slowly being replaced. For a complete beginner there are a few places where the connectivity could be improved to make the experience better.
Good ski touring from the resort although not experienced it myself.

Les contamines is still a relatively unknown resort, despite becoming a little more known in the last few years . Really friendly and a surprising amount of skiing to be found. Consistently good snow and is always holding the snow better than its lower neighbours. Good, fast lift system. Quite a few bars and restaurants, but not party central if thats your thing. If you have a car, you can also ski in St Gervais (linked to Megeve), Combloux, Praz sur Arly, and even Chamonix valley resorts are only 30 minutes away.

Great snow record and quiet slopes.
Typically French but not the cheapest of resorts for food and drink.

Small ski area, but part of a larger ski zone if you don't mind a road trip around the mountain.

Excellent summer location. So many other activities to keep you busy.

Due to the natural bowl shape, and central lift area, it lends well to family skiing. In particular low to middle tier experience skiers.

Everyone in town is friendly. There is a strong community feel.

There is a good selection of shops for essentials and activity essentials.

Recommending Les Contamines, even though that may risk future booking availability for me!

Great resort with good cover even after a long period without new snow. It has something for everyone with amazing views of Mont Blanc and delicious French food and wine served at the on-mountain restaurants.

Better than you think with more skiing than you might expect. Great runs with fantastic views from well manged pistes and consistent good snow quality. Great off piste too! Plus, there a terrific amount of ski touring available.

Les contaminés had some very nice blue and red runs with the occasional challenging black run. My favorite leisure slope being monument allows for a chill descend of the mountain with a gorgeous view of the famous Mont Blanc. I thoroughly enjoyed my time. The après ski was not notable as it quite a small town and the resort was more geared for families.

Fantastic little resort!
Had a couple of days there whilst staying/skiing St Gervais, would definitely return.
High altitude, great runs. Park is for beginners, but looks a lot of fun (alas it wasn't open due to ice when I went).
Highly recommend this resort - although might get a bit bored doing it all week, if off piste unavailable.

Super resort, part of the Evasion Mont Blanc but not connected.
Fantastic variety of terrain for all levels, never seems overcrowded on school holiday weeks and amazing uncrowded powder opportunities on the snowy days.
Only down side is the initial gondola up can be busy first thing on school holiday weeks, so get there early.
