Reviewers consistently describe it as a quiet, uncrowded resort with short lift queues and well-maintained pistes suitable for mixed-ability groups. Great resort for beginner family, not for experienced. Not enough runs and low altitude makes it exposed to poor snow.

The resort is generally quiet and small in comparison to other resorts. There is lots of runs with no people on and if you go early in the morning during the off season it is almost empty. There isn't much options for off piste, although there is a few areas nothing major. There is only one real run with trees and one off piste area so no very good for tree skiing. One major positive is the groomed runs, early in the morning they piste every run and it lots of areas there is lots of opportunities to go fast and practice wide turns etc. there is a very good park with jumps of all sizes

Great experience skiing and snowboarding, have skied here since 4 years old, has lovely wide runs allowing you to enjoy your snowboarding or skiing without the worry of crashing into less experienced skiers. Make sure to check your level of skiing before hand because this is definitely for the skier family with all ranges of abilities. Small resort so if staying for an adrenaline filled high level of skiing not the place to go. Would highly recommend if looking to start skiing or build on previous skiing abilities.

Great skii resort for families. Pretty low altitude so snow was patchy when we went in March-time. Food options on the slope were OK.

For a relatively low-level resort, there's some surprisingly good runs to be found in Grand Bo.

Not one for super advanced skiers or boarders, but it's a great venue for a bunch of learners or mixed ability groups who want to regularly see each other during the day.

To top it off the ski park is a blast!

I have been skiing in Le Grand Bornand for 20 years. It's a fantastic family friendly resort, with a great range of skiing for all abilities! There is a comprehensive lift system which makes this medium sized resort feel bigger.

There is some great off-piste terrain and the groomed runs are fantastic, with big sweeping pistes great for carving, some technical steep areas to challenge high level skiers, and great beginner level slopes as well.

The mountain restaurants are good, with a range of self service and table service options. There is very limited organised après ski venues. But a few nice bars with sun decks for a relaxed drink at the end of the day. This is a more of a family oriented resort, than somewhere with a party atmosphere.

The Ski domain is accessible from both the Main Village and Chinaillon village both of which have a great range of accommodation. The Resort is around 1 hour from Geneva airport, making it a convenient option for flights.

Overall Le Grand Bornand is a fantastic resort for a family holiday with plenty of skiing for everyone! There are great Pistes and some exciting Off-Piste and Touring terrain when the conditions are right. La Clusaz is very nearby and makes a great optional outing for different skiing once or twice during a week's stay. The resort has a more relaxed rustic atmosphere than some of the more upmarket resorts in the Alps, but this is perfect for families and feels very genuine as the village is a year round destination.
