Pamporovo Reviews & Ratings

Well-maintained and well-groomed slopes. Lots of snow and beautiful scenery. Good accommodation options with cosy, warm hotels.

We’ve been going to Pamporovo for several years, I first went in 1986 on a school ski trip, then when we had children we decided to take them. Pamporovo is great for learners, nice winding greens through the trees, move up quickly to the blues and reds, the black runs might not be black at other resorts, but they’re doable, and at least you can say you’ve skied a black run.
Ski and equipment hire, reasonable prices for reasonable kit, lift passes daily or weekly good value, plenty of options for tuition if you need it.
Eating out is great value, with plenty to choose from, and a fraction of the price of bigger European resorts. Drinks are cheaper too, but it’s a “family orientated” resort, I’ve never seen any drunken antisocial behaviour on the mountain or around the hotels.
As far as the accommodation is concerned, you certainly get what you pay for, however, you go on a ski holiday to ski not sit in a hotel. The rooms we’ve stayed in are basic but comfortable, when you’ve been on a mountain all day a beds a bed , a beer in the hotel is a beer, don’t expect 5 star luxury and you won’t be disappointed, everyone’s friendly and there’s often a fire to sit around.
The kids have grown up now, they want somewhere a bit livelier and the runs a bit more challenging. However, been there done that, I’m quite happy to go back to Pamporovo.

Came to pomorovo in march with the family as its quieter as we are first time skiers. Our instructor is amazing and has patience off a saint. Amazing place very friendly and met a lot of people from same home contry.

Brilliant for families and couples. Beginners and intermediates. (Couple of blacks). Cheap food and drink. Warm and welcoming locals

Pamporovo great value for money and lots of fun as part of a group trip with all different ages. Great prices on food and drink, friendly instructors and no long lines at lifts. Resort is great for beginners and intermediates although lacking somewhat for more advanced skiers. Even as an advanced skier I plan to return next year with some of my first time skier friends!

Decent skiing, cheap and cheerful. Loverly food, only busy school holidays. We stopped in a flat that you ski in ski out, old, but clean and warm.

Weird thing was the apre… there wasn’t any!

No one in the bars or restaurants, literally about 50 across the whole resort each night if you’re lucky! If you want that in Bulgaria go to bansko. Decent for family’s though if they like it quiet!

Amazing smaller resort, with tree lined runs for all abilities. Doesn’t get snow depths like the Alps, but they have extensive snowmaking and grooming is the best I’ve ever seen. There’s potential for offpiste in the right conditions . Locals very friendly, and cheaper than most European resorts .

Good resort especially for beginners/ learning for a few years - Beers cheap but not the best apres the food not great slopes small not very long

Basic runs, very friendly hotels, restaurants and bars. Lots of choice for accommodation and cheap food on the listed.

Cute Resort, family friendly, not expensive, small area but good for beginners and those wanting easier slopes.

Excellent instructor particularly Dimitri and Peter. Really good for first time skiers like myself, who may be a little nervous too. I felt progression over the week

I’ve been here many times and it’s definitely worth it . Being one of the most affordable places to ski I recommend it highly - lifts pass is at 40 euros a day and to hire equipment 20 so it’s great for the bank . There’s a mix of difficult slopes and easier ones - DJ every Saturday on the slopes what more could anyone ask for ! And amazing hotels with spas - even if you drive 30 mins there are natural hot springs

I have been skiing in pamporovo for many years I’m going again in January. If you want bc a quiet and cheap week away it’s brilliant. People are so friendly and will do anything for you. Runs are perfect for me and it has the longest red run in Bulgaria. Food is cheap and I love eating the traditional food.

It’s a good beginners spot to learn the basics. More intense runs for the experience skier or snowboarder.
Friendly people, cheap food and drink.
When it snows it’s heavenly!

Been twice ski school best I have been to.
Not suitable advanced skiers as area to small but great for intermediate

Excellent resort, with lots of sunshine. Very friendly people and brilliant ski school schools. Free transport to some restaurants and plenty of taxi. Our aparthotel Nero provided a shuttle to the slopes. From leaving hotel to ready to ski less than 10 minutes.

Loved Was the best experience ever and hope to do it again soon. Absolutely stunning and loved it. Will definitely recommend all friends and family and go back in the

I have been going for many years and even met my partner there. Very friendly and Ive loved it so much its hard to want to go anywhere else when including spending money the holidays costing is around £1200 in total. Fantastic family resort for beginners. If you are an advanced skier or boarder there is not enough hard red runs or blacks. Food and drink is very cheap if you know where to go. I know a lot of locals.

Lovely place great food instructors were so helpful I am beginner and need lessons . Great places in the evening to have a drink saunas and spas were awesome

Pamporovo is a great resort for beginner skiers, lots of easy blue and green runs and some nice reds. For more intermediate/ advanced skiers there are a few nice black runs but the resort is quite small so you could probably ski it all in one day if going fast. There was some lovely off piste areas down one of the blue runs which made it more interesting! It was great value for money and the lift queues were quiet (we went during term time). Beers and restaurants were cheap and lots of nice places to stop on the mountain, but was not particularly lively in the evening.
