I went on a 6-day trip to Mölltal for New Year's. The very high altitude of the resort promised snow, which was certainly true. However, many runs were still closed due to lack of snow. The resort has snow cannons which were used, but it was quite windy so I don't know how much benefit they really had. The resort is above the tree-line so you are at the mercy of the weather if there is wind and fog. We lost 2 days of skiing to poor conditions where only the nursery slope stayed open.

There's not a lot of variety on the glacier, it's mostly red runs (other than the nursery slope). The one other blue run goes from the gondola station down to the base (at the top of a funicular!) and has bits which feel more red-like, especially near the bottom where there is quite a steep bit which gets choppier through the day and can end up being actually quite challenging. There is only one black run, which I tackled it on my third day of skiing, it's a great run, but I have skied more challenging red runs. I saw people skiing off piste but didn't go myself as I wasn't insured off-piste.

There were a couple of kiddie slalom runs there but if you're looking for mogul fields and snow parks this probably isn't the place for you.

Molltaler has an amazing quality to it. Long but fairly easy routes make it accessible for families and fans of a more relaxed rides. Wide slopes allow you to comfortably ski around without bumping into other people and the height of the mountain makes it white almost all year round.
I don't go for apres-ski or drink alcohol on the slopes so I can't talk much about it

Resort was great for beginners, however only about 50km of piste. Could be more chairlifts, and a wider variety of runs. Overall, a good resort
