We have only gone at the end of May, beginning of June.
The slopes are generally empty apart from a few off piste areas that have training teams from different countries practising slalom.
Food in the restaurant is the usual fare for Austria.

We had a beautiful day at hintertuxer glacier last season the views were undeniably breathtaking. I was very impressed with the lift and gondola infrastructure the lodges were beautiful unfortunately we missed the good snow conditions by a week or so but the grooming was top notch and the amount of area to explore was amazing.

Hintertux is just a wonder of the world that each skier has to experience at least once in a lifetime. Each time you're up there, there's a peace of time automatically set. Apres skis are very cozy, food is grear and staff is very helpful and quick. Cable cars work extremely well and there are no ques.

Awesome thrill and a huge resort. 3 gondolas are required to reach the top. Would recommend a acclimatising yourself before going right to the top! Awesome views on a clear day and a phenomenal run down right to the bottom if there is plenty snow.

Hintertuxer Gletscher is a glacier and therefore is a particular beast in the skiing world - it has snow all year and so is a good option for early and late season skiing when the other lower resorts have closed or not yet opened. The lifts from the base station are very quick, holding around 30 people and the slopes are well maintained although the fact that it is a glacier means there is often a covering of snow on sheet ice!

Hintertux is a good quality resort, with a reasonable price. There are a lot of slopes for different levels and a few nice school options for beginners. The resort is huge, so you can ski on different slopes for probably about a week. However, it feels like it takes forever when travelling up to the peak, as the mountain is very high and the main gondolas are relatively slow. Overall though, it's a nice resort that every Austrian skier should visit at least once.

Hintertux is a glacier resort in Austria. This allows all year skiing.
The late and early season snow is great and so provides a good option for extra ski trips in the year. The altitude also brings powder when other resorts may be grass.
There is a good variety of blue and red runs which are great for learning new skills on, with a few blacks when you want a challenge.
The heated bubble chairs are great and the gondolas are speedy. However being a glacier the majority of lifts are t bars.
Hintertux is not a massive apres seen and is a relatively small village, however 20 minutes down the valley is mayrhofen. There are shuttle busses included with ski passes so anyone looking for a party should stay in hof and use bus up to the ski zones in the morning.

Easily one of the best glaciers in Europe. In early or present season the snow conditions could be anything and the slopes are dominated with racers and training groups but April is quiet and with winters getting later the conditions can still be excellent, making Tux a great place to end the season.
Theres a lot of variety of accom available and plenty of restaurants. Theres a free bus that services the resort and its hard to miss the bars at the bottom for some fun Après.
Very much recommended for an end of season trip.

Great option for near guaranteed snow (in appropriate seasons). Some variety of slopes although the lower level slopes weren't open when we went.
Piste markings are very Austrian (sparse and poorly laid out) but there.

Dramatic high altitude setting with skiing from the lift accessed summit at 3250m, and lower gondola stations at 2600m and the main base at 2100m. Top notch lift system
Thats wind resistant . Routes on piste a mix of reds , blues and a few blacks. A decent vertical drop for many of the routes. Skiing year round but best from early December. Use the free shuttle bus to get to and from the glacier gondola station
