Searchmont is a great little hill. Ski on to lifts, nice varied terrain. For 25/26 season one of 3 lifts won’t be running but besides that it is a gem.

Great Family friendly Ski resort with high verticle ( for the Mid West ) and challenging steep long runs & natural bush runs & glade skiing. Also good balance of groomed green beginner & bluei ntermediate runs & some groomed black advanced runs. Problem is extremely poor management, poor website especially regarding what chair lifts & runs are open, & what conditions accurtaely are. Mechanical problems with lifts & groomers, so this season best terrain Quad lift is not operating, which leaves only 2 other non-beginner area adult triple chair lifts running , & some days even those are closed & reserved for racers only. Unexpectedly closed on days they announced they would be open multiple times already this 2025/26 season, without advanced notice ( people upset after driving 3-4+ hours only to find the hill closed or only begiiner area open !!! ). Used to be affordable , but now very expensive for a family as they no longer have Season Pass student rates for junior high or high school nor college students. Such a shame because used to be such a well run hill ! Always phone before you go to Searchmont & speak to a live person to find out what the true lifts operating, runs open, & conditions are, & what the operating hours actually are. Beautiful scenic drive just North of Sault Ste. Marie ( Mi & ON ).

It's a good Ski resort for Ontario. I'm from Northern Ontario I'd say it's the ski in Northern Ontario.

Great, well groomed runs and very friendly staff. The lift lines were very short and our room was pretty good.

The goods!:Searchmont! A diamond in the rough. Some of the best terrain and elevation in the area. Recently purchased by new owners who have invested lots into their snowmaking capabilities and accommodations. Some great diamond runs lots of fun for everyone. Regular host ski race events. The bad:For the park riders;i really wish searchmont management would realize the benefit of putting more energy into their terrain park. They allot minimum staff, effort, experience or general care for having a terrain park. If they cared a bit more about even having a park this place would up its level big time!

Searchmont is a fantastic family friendly resort. It has options for the whole family and challenging runs for your experienced skiers. It remains one of the best hills in Ontario and is not overcrowded. They are in the process of reopening their hill side villas. I recommend searchmont always!

Great snow usually opens earlier than most resorts. Terrain park is top tier for the size of the resort.

Been riding here since I was a kid, as it's my local resort. Always a good time to be had, some days it almost feels like you're the only one on a run, others it's so packed it can be hard to find a spot to sit in the lodge. Terrain park, mogul runs and powder areas are some highlights of the mountain. Many intermediate/advanced runs and a plethora of beginner slopes. With ~700ft of vertical it's one of the biggest resorts in the province when it comes to the length of runs and variety of terrain to ride. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. I've been working the snowmaking team this season and absolutely loving it.

Terrible management, no communication. Honestly a joke of a system in place considering how much potential the hill has

Resort is great, usually not too busy so lift lines are short. Runs are well groomed and well maintained. Not too much off-piste or tree runs but its a great resort.

Been a member for most of my life, new ownership is promising. Spending lots of $ on infrastructure. Never a lift line, friendly staff, and when lake effect snow hits Searchmont it gets deep!

Its a good resort for northern Ontario but I think they should make there park a lot better, with adding a tow rope to get more runs in and other then that overall is good but cant compare to big resorts like whistler.

Searchmont is a nice local hill with short lift lines and is a good hill for the Midwest. It may be going through some growing pains as the new owners try to figure things out.

Needs work. Lodge is nice, accommodations are limited, but nice. Lifts are updated, groomers dont do a very good job. Half the runs are closed for ski team training on the weekends.

For Ontario Searchmont is the best there is. With a variety of terrain from difficult black diamonds to lengthy beginner runs you wont find anything better. With a decent amount of powder days and a quiet hill I almost dont want to share as to not ruin this hidden gem.
