Castle Mountain Review Summary
Castle Mountain attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders drawn by steep terrain, chutes, and consistent powder. Reviewers repeatedly mention empty slopes, minimal lift queues, and a relaxed, old-school atmosphere with friendly staff. The mountain receives high marks for terrain variety and snow quality, particularly wind-deposited powder that persists between storms. Recurring criticisms focus on outdated, slow chairlifts, limited on-mountain dining and accommodation options, inconsistent grooming, and windy conditions that can close upper lifts. Several reviewers note that while infrastructure is basic, the quality of skiing compensates for the lack of modern amenities.

The weather improved to blue skies no wind and fantastic views , snow conditions were great, beautiful groomed runs and fresh snow overnight. If there is a downside it would only be the food and accommodation options.
Overall 4 out of 5 stars as the skiing was the reason I was at Castle Mountain.
It is a place I have visited every year since I started learning to snowboard as an adult.
The area has little cell service so it’s a true escape! The mountain has epic powder days. The lines for the chairs can get a bit long since the chairs are older and slower but worth the wait!
If you love packed powder - go to Castle Mt. They juts keep getting refreshed and it's not really busy.
