Absolutely one of the nicer, most hospitable resorts in North America. It's like going back in time ... before Vail turned the ski industry into a Wall Street casino .Not much around the area on terms of commercial resort, but the skiing is excellent and you can safely leave your kit bag in the cafeteria all day and never worry about it.We rented a condo in Fernie and skied Fernie, Castle, and Kimberly all week. Suv rental out of Calgary is 50% vs salt lake for the same Ford expedition from the same rental company. You'll love skiing this whole area and have enough money left over for a second ski trip that year.

This is the place to be on a powder day!! The wind blows upward here and definitely feels like a new run everytime. Great staff and always smiling and helpful. Great family hill

it was a good hill, had lots of mogul spots and tree trails which made it super fun and easy to have fun there. the jumps were in good condition too but there was ic patches like almost all over the mountain and it made my board chip but its okay because the skihill made up for it

Terrain up Red chair and snow quality is excellent. Especially for advanced or plus. There are a couple blue groomers, which are excellent. Long traverses on cat tracks required. Can be extremely windy. Chutes are great!Huckleberry berry section is excellent for beginner to upper intermediate. The middle of the mountain is excellent if the snow is good and amazing tree skiing. Not a lot of groomers here. If snow is bad The mountain gets small quite fast , most people stick to Huckleberry or go up red if they are able.

Castle Mountain is a brilliant place to explore all levels of skiing. The mountain has a wide variety of terrain, from beginner runs and groomers, as well as the longest continuous chutes in Alberta. Steep and Deep!

Steep and challenging mountain, mostly blue and black diamond runs. Chairlifts are a bit dated, pretty slow, but not too busy of a hill, I didn't have any waits at any lifts.

A hidden gem off the beaten path that gets great snow and has a small family friendly hill feel. Its lift tickets are very reasonable compared to the more popular hills around it, and it has skill levels for all.

Great family hill. We went a few times with my kids race team for events and stayed at the hotel. Hill was well run, staff was friendly, snow was always great. Fall line is great. Terrain is varied for all levels of skiers. I highly recommend Castle for a quiet getaway if you are looking for a ski trip away from the hustle and bustle of larger resorts
