Sipapu is a hidden gem for families and first-timers. The resort’s laid-back, welcoming atmosphere makes it feel like a private playground for kids to learn without the intimidation of big crowds.

While the main bunny hill is great for getting your "ski legs," it’s almost too flat for practicing proper turns, as you quickly lose the momentum needed to carve. However, Bambi is the perfect step up. It provides just enough consistent pitch to easily practice edge control while remaining wide and forgiving. It’s the ultimate confidence-builder for any beginner before they tackle the steeper terrain! The blue trails weren't on my list to try, but I am hoping to progress to them soon. The mountain is not fully open, but for a beginner the trails you need are.

Easy access to the main road & terrain for all levels, easy for families to split up & catch up to each other all day. Food is delicious & fairly priced. No lift lines, close to Taos for entertainment.

The single most underrated mountain in the region, and I've skied most of them.

If you are a tree-skier, this place is HEAVEN. Just an absurd amount of double-diamond trees relative to the cost of a ticket.

Zero crowds. Gorgeous and unique base area. Stupid cheap. Give this place a shot!

Its a smaller resort but for the price very good deal. I typically will make suicide trips to that mountain and its always been a great time, enough to keep you entertained for the day. With the layout of the trails, you can take a shorter lift ride up and still make the park, its a very good layout as far as that goes.
