The Skiers' Guide to Crested Butte Mountain Resort
All Reviews
Crested Butte Mountain Resort Review Summary
Crested Butte attracts predominantly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, with users consistently highlighting the challenging terrain, particularly the extreme runs and back bowls accessible via surface lifts. The resort is noted for being less crowded than other Colorado destinations due to its remote location, though this also makes it less accessible. Snow quality receives mixed feedback, with some praising powder conditions while others report icy runs and exposed rocks mid-season. Beginners find limited suitable terrain, with several reviewers noting that even green runs can be mogulled or steep. The town itself is frequently described as authentic and appealing, with good dining options.
