More steep runs compared to many other resorts that makes skiing more interesting.Resort is smaller but plenty of runs for a few days' trip.
Bus services to and from the resort fo town of Crested Butte and Gunnison are very convenient. Town has a lot of restaurants with variety of food options and bars.

I spent five days, three skiing, at Crested Butte and loved my experience on the mountain. Groomed runs were great and they had a handful of mogul fields. I liked that Crested Butte takes advantage of their steep mountain face which makes for epic Blue and Black runs. Lift lines ran efficiently and only a couple of chairs ran slow. The base area has a good selection of restaurant and bars for after skiing activities.

To me, this is one of the best resorts in the world for expert terrain. Everything off of the back is an absolute dream. It's not easy to get to, but that means you can ski fresh tracks all day. Vibes are almost that of a smaller mountain, and they've got the best pizza in Colorado at secret stash. Ski rambo if you want the bragging rights, but it's the least interesting run on that hill. The poma lifts are about as good as it gets anywhere.

The last true ski town in Colorado! Mountain is great. Especially the back bowls. Always a great time especially around Christmas!

Amazing mountain for both beginners and experienced riders. Crested butte includes a good amount of easy blues for the inexperienced, and also has some of the most extreme runs in america, i have never had a dull day over my 100s of days at crested butte. The T bar lifts take you to some of the most amazing terrain that you wont find anywhere else. Fun for all and challenging for the most experienced riders.

It is as if CB is two resorts: nice tight and well groomed runs from easy greens to wild blacks and then the surface lift served extremes that are truly extreme. Think huck yourself off a 60 foot cliff extremes that are still in-bounds. Apres on the mountain is not special, but a short (and free) bus ride into town serves up some great restaurants and bars ranging from total dives to world class cocktails and two in-town distilleries. Then go home, go to bed and do it all over again tomorrow. It is remote enough to not get too busy, but still pretty accessible.

I grew up coming here and love the mountain and the town. The Avalanche restaurant was always a must visit when we went. The town has an artsy feel and vibe to it. Access to extreme runs is easy access.

Crested Butte has some of everything for everybody. Lift wait times are rarely more than a few minutes, and the staff here is among the bestfriendly, helpful, and great attitudes. The town of Crested Butte has great shops and restaurants, and even a quaint, old-fashioned movie theater.
CB is a bit out of the way, but sure beats the I70 traffic!
