Incredibly good resort for beginners/intermediates and families. The ski area is vast and offers a huge mix of blues/reds in a variety of settings from the glacier to the treeline. It's a perfect resort for groups of mixed ability, as practically every lift has a blue option meaning you aren't consigned to one part of the mountain and there's no need to plan too much in advance. You can also upgrade to a Paradiski pass to access Les Arcs in the (unlikely) event you get bored. One notable upside of the accessability is that the lift lines are generally pretty quick, even on the 'main' runs at peak times. The villages themselves aren't the prettiest - concrete blocks tend to dominate - but that's the tradeoff for a resort that's on the budget-friendly end. Food options are also generally reasonably priced mountain fare in functional environments rather than anything spectacular. Overall, if you're looking for a resort that offers a lot of really good skiing for beginners/intermediates at a very affordable price, you'll struggle to find a better option than La Plagne.
