I personally love the remote feel (national Forest) and the lack of big resort commotion/no big village full of vendors and stores. There is a pretty laid back local vibe and lift lines are never as bad as some of the bigger resorts, even on a peak powder day.
It's been revered as a "snowboarders' mountain" for it's interesting side hit terrain and fun open areas when the snow is good, but not maybe best for beginners cuz there are a lot of flat traverses that also get a little icy. Bring your avie gear to leave the rope line into the side/back country! They will be checking you for safety.
I also really appreciate the initiative they are taking to become green and hopefully off the grid in the future using a lot of hydropower!
Cool place. Glacier, the tiny town you hit before, also has great little places to eat and a rental shop.
