We visited as a party of 5, 4 experienced skiers and 1 beginner. Good slopes for beginners and intermediate skiing. A small resort for experienced skiers, the mountain restaurants were good value for money and you were never rushed out. The ski area was good, pistes groomed and well maintained. Not all the lifts or runs were open. A mixed week of weather, so ok skiing. Had a day in Sestreire which was good. The hotel was excellent value for money, staff were incredibly helpful and food was very good. Overall a good week.

Stayed at Bianca Chalet in town giving easy access to lifts. Excellent hospitality. Plenty of space on slopes & no queues at lifts (mid Jan) even with World Uni Championships going on. Lucky with weather sunshine, good snow. Some lovely places to stop for food & drink on the pistes. Great value for money!

Great resort with lots of open pistes and a good selection of ski runs. Love the smaller bars dotted around the slopes and menu choices.

Stayed in lovely family run hotel Rosa Serenella. Bus stop right by the accommodation. Short ride to slopes. Only used Campo smith side because of children still learning. Slopes generally good condition. Some flat spots for snowboarders to get across. Christmas-New Year time queues weren't that bad once done the main campo smith lift. Loads of very good food options in Bardonecchia . Great place overall

Great family resort and tree-lined slopes. Lack of restaurants and no apres ski scene for those looking for an evening party.

Nice small quiet ski resort, enough terrain for an intermediate for a week. Lots of ski in ski out options. Lifts were fast and not crowded and the runs were well groomed. Easy train down to Turin for a day trip.

Its a lovely resort with a friendly atmosphere. I had 1 lesson from the ski school which were very kind and showed me around the mountain. We found the slopes are steeper than others so as a rule of thumb I would mark them a grade higher (blue -> red). The chairlifts are nice however there are a lot more drag lifts compared, this annoyed me personally as on the busier days lots of people were falling off and stopping it. The slopes are well maintained and they have a really nice area for moguls as well as jumps, rails and an Olympic half pipe. Food is amazing. It is very busy on the weekend and holidays but fine in the week.

Great resort with plenty of runs to keep everyone busy. Well serviced across the resort by free ski bus which runs regularly. The town itself is a beautiful little place with an old town which is a lovely walk if you fancy giving your legs a well earned day off mid trip. The town has plenty of food options but not a lot of apres ski. Lifts are mainly fast and well serviced and rarely waiting longer than 5 mins pending the time of season. Fantastic views from the top. I would recommend this resort to families wanting a reasonably priced trip with a quiet authentic Italian feel.

My first skiing holiday was here and what an experience. Its the reason I still continue to ski today. Thanks to the help of our ski instructors that taught us the basics and took everyone all over the mountain from small off piste jumps to crossing through woodland areas. Of course stopping for some fantastic Italian coffee and pizza to really bring the holiday together. Plenty of fun for adults in the evening with bars all relatively close together or you can head into town for a spot of shopping. Overall a brilliant place for both couples and families looking for there first skiing holiday.

You get what you pay for. Bardo is a cheaper resort. If you are looking for wild parties and endless mountain routes, you will be disappointed. However for a quieter, cheaper holiday you cant go far wrong with Bardonecchia. There are a few airports to choose, we chose Chambery and a (almost) 2 hour coach ride. Turin is a lot closer but dearer. As for the skiing the resort itself is ok. 2 nice baby slopes, a few nice blue runs and a couple of reds and blacks. Great for beginner/intermediate skiers. The nearby Jafferau is a lot prettier and a lot more choice in terms of runs. Luckily there is a free local bus that you can catch. There are a fair few local rental places. The ski school is great. The locals are some of the friendliest people I have met. Loads of accommodation choices from private rents to hotels, we stayed in the Olympic village (repurposed from the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics). Great budget accommodation. I will add we were a school trip, 40 secondary students and 5 staff. Seems a popular destination for other schools too.

Stayed in lovely family run hotel Rosa Serenella. Great location, with ski bus stop outside, and best pizzeria next door. Only visited campo smith area. Between snowboarder and 2 joung skiers foud the area well suited for beginners, although there are few flat sections that are hard to get through on snowboard so be prepared to unbuckle especially if you're a beginner snowboarder. Kids enjoyed the slopes, some tree runs and little freestyle park on skis. Lift lines can get very crowded with ski school and a lot of skiers push in queues more than other countries. Apres ski has plenty of choice in town. Food was always great and authentic and fair priced. If there for christmas-new year , make sure you book table in advance as it fills up quickly. Great self drive experience overall

Unfortunately, the amount of snow greatly impacted our experience of this resort. However, the resort failed to turn on any snow cannons which meant that over half the slopes were completely closed. Very icy unhooked slopes. Food was a saving grace and the apree bar was pretty good.
