We stayed in Alagna town where in the morning you have to get the cable car up the mountain in the morning. There was never a queue but the cable does take a while. However you are moving a long way up the mountain. After that youre on the slopes and most of the lifts are modern and fast. It is a black run back down to the town, I would say it is a very easy black run and most skiers would be able to navigate it down. Staying in Alagna gives you the quickest access to the Freeride Paradise. Widely considered some of the best off-piest skiing in Italy. Remember your avalanche equipment if using the free ride area as it is required. If you ski here during the week, it feels like you have the place to yourself. Outside of the first lift in the morning, I would regularly goes full days without there being another person on the same lift as me. Highly recommend Monterosa!
