Hidden gem. Substantial ski area. Four villages to choose from. Briancon biggest. We stayed in Villeneuve. Quieter village with a vibrant local community. Wide, well groomed pistes. Slow lifts. Accessible and good quality mountain restaurants. Best village bars and local restaurants a little off the beaten track and need pointing out. Took train from Paris to Grenoble and a two hour shared transfer from there. Easy. Would happily return.
