We stayed at Pas de la Casa for new years and had a blast! Grandvalira is a huge ski field so would definitely recommend a few days to get your bearings and have a feel for the different slopes and terrains available. Spanish, French and Catalan are the predominant languages spoken. Despite the slight language barrier, the people in the town were friendly and we had no issues getting rental gear and lift passes. My friends had signed up for ski and snowboard lessons, mixture of private and group classes. Many ski instructors didn't speak English and the quality of the teaching varied between instructors. We enjoyed the Apres ski regrettably missed the night skiing available! In the evenings we wined and dined at the at the Hotel Sporting restaurant, Cava Roca Grill Bar and other Spanish and Italian restaurants nearby. There hadn't been a lot of snow the days leading up to New Years and we were told by locals end of January was a better time. Until next time, Pas de la Casa!
