What Skiers Say About Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain attracts intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers praising its naturally divided terrain layout that separates skill levels from west (beginner) to east (advanced). The resort is consistently noted for having excellent terrain parks and a half-pipe, minimal lift queues even on busy days, and easy access from Denver. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with several users commenting on recent drought years limiting terrain availability. Reviewers appreciate the less touristy atmosphere compared to nearby resorts like Vail and Breckenridge, though some mention limited nightlife and dining options. Parking is frequently praised as free and well-organised with shuttle service.

Never had a bad day at copper. Early season ski patrol is awesome and will let you ski unopen runs for directive skiing. Midseason the crowds at the base areas can be overwhelming however the singles lines are generally relatively fast. It is also easy to escape the crowds if you are willing to ski more difficult black and double black terrain in the bowls. Snow is usually good but the most heavily trafficked groomers get icy towards the end of most non powder days. The biggest downside is that there is no really extreme terrain. That being said there are a lot of fun areas with cliffs and other natural features to play around on.

Pretty dope place to ski! The mountain is well taken care of and the facilities are top notch. There are awesome chances for deep powder at certain times of the year too!

Copper Mtn is an outstanding resort right off the freeway. Its accessibility makes it an easy stop. The terrain is huge and theres so many runs. We road Copper in late April and it still was great! Staff is friendly, parking is easy, the food options are pretty ok, and the slopes are rad! Enjoy!

Try to ski during the week when there are no lift lines for a better experience. If you ski on the weekend then go for alpine,Sierra, rendezvous lifts for lesser lift line.

Great selection of runs from beginner to expert. Excellent bump runs all over the mountain. Good groomers most of the time. Spectacular views. Friendly staff. Need more control of extremely fast skiers when the slopes are busy. The new Aries is very nice and not so pricey as many resorts- grilled cheese and fries for $12 is a fav. Good shuttle service from the no-charge parking lots. Good shops for ski stuff and rentals. Fun base area. Been going to Copper since 1982 and it gets better every year !

Copper is an amazing mtn for new skiers to expert skiers. The mtn has many varying levels, but what I love most is that it progressively gets more difficult across the mtn west to east. This helps separate the ability levels on the mtns and keep beginners in beginner learning areas and more advanced with other advanced expert skiers. Often even on weekends there are no lift lines on the more difficult area of the mtns and there are so many different sections and lifts for the mtn it spreads people out! Only downside is that it is a quiet mtn, so nightlife is minimal. Downhill dukes and center village does have decent apres scene from 3-5:30.

Great week to ski! Tons of fresh snow not very crowded. Last day there avalanche crew was bombing back bowls due to 38 inches of snow! Stayed at The Greens within walking distance to Super Bee lift. Very nice place! New Aerie lodge was great place to eat!

I greatly enjoy Copper Mountain due to the wide variety of terrain. The mountain is expansive, there is a great balance of terrain for the majority of skiers and riders, and the runs are just a lot of fun! I have always found the staff to be very friendly, and I am planning on taking my next lesson there due to the reasonable pricing.

I love the way the mountain is laid out. More or less split into more advanced, intermediate and beginner. Due to this and the high speed lifts - no matter how crowded it can get - it is unusual to have much of a wait at lift lines. The mountain offers a wide variety of terrain from groomed to moguls to steeper advanced sections.

Restaurants and facilities are very good and continue to improve.

The free parking is well orgainized and efficient. The new buses can really pack a lot of skiers in for quick transport.

Copper mountain is a wonderful resort overall. As a college student who attends University of Colorado Boulder, the resort is surprisingly very affordable. The free alpine parking lot is very convenient, and super easy to navigate. The food and restaurants are all super high quality, without being unreasonably priced. The mountain definitely has terrain for all levels of skiers, and no matter if you want extreme terrain, moguls, tree runs, or a family friendly green copper has all of the above. It is my favorite mountain, and has become my home resort.

Copper mountain is the only mountain that I visit during the ski season. I have tried the others in the area but I just dont think that they compare to the experience I have at Copper Mountain. The food is good, the runs are fantastic. It can get crowded on the weekends at the main lifts (American Eagle/ Flyer, Timberline and Super Bee) but Ive never had a long wait on the back of the mountain lifts. I tend to skip the slow top to bottom zones and dont have any problems doing so. Off mountain activities are provided on the weekends, this season I really enjoyed watching the men and womens superpipe competition and the live music. For non-skiers there is tubing and an outdoor play area, food and drink, and some light shopping in center village. Check out Copper! You wont be disappointed!

copper mountain resort , one of the things that sets copper apart from other ski areas is how the mountain is laid out with the beginner area to the West . Blue runs in the the middle ( intermediate) and the advanced part of the hill to the East . There is also the back bowls on powder days. Close in pay parking is readily available. But the Alpine lot has free parking With shuttle service . If you arrive later there is also a far east lot across the highway that also has shuttle service. Dukes and Jacks have food and drink at the center village and there are some Indy restaurants serving pizza and Bbq . Aerie just opened mid mountain this season. Located about 70 miles West of Denver a relatively easy drive but can take longer on powder days and weekends. Warning do not drive to Denver on Sunday if you can avoid it

Ive never been too impressed with Copper. Seems like a way overrated resort with too many people. I will say that the trees are pretty good, but the powder never lasts too long because of the amount of people.
